Alumni Association
An Alumni Association was formed in the general meeting held on 29 Sep,2002.In this regards a committee was formed to look into the affairs of the Alumni Association with Mr. S. Borthakur ,principal as the president ,Mr. DiSadhan Chakarborty ,Amrik Singh and Deba Kumar Borah, Ex-student as vice president , B.C .Saikia ,an Ex student and teacher of our college as general secretary ,while three ex-students namely Dilip Kuamr Borthakur, pak Bhattacharjee and Prafulla Bora as Joint secretaries of the Association.
Grand Alumni Meet2003
The Grand Alumni Meet of C. K. B. Commerce College, Jorhat was held on 23rd August 2003.The College Principal, Mr. Susil Borthakur hosted the college flag and invited full participation from the students. The meeting opened with a Saraswati Vandana, performed by the students of the college.Mr. Bimal saikia , a senior lecturer of the college and secretary of the Alumni association read out the welcome speech. While participating the meeting as the Chief Guest of Honor, Dr, Ravi Kota, Deputy Commissioner of Jorhat District, said that in order to achieve success in life , dedication and hard labour are necessary along with the students’ keen desire and their own ideal. The appointed speaker Dr. Badan Chandra Borthkur, the former vice Chancellor of Assam Agriculture University regretted how the Central government has hindered the socio-economic progress of north east of India. Another appointed speaker Dr. Sunil Kumar Saikia a former student of the college and the chief of Indian Institute of entrepreneurship and Management dealt with the socio-economic scenario of Assam and the challenge before the students of commerce Colleges of the State. Moreover , he described the burning problem of looming large before the thirty two Lacs of unemployment youths in Assam and also the ways and means that such colleges have to take up for the future. The alumni meet ended with a delightful cultural function organized by the ex-students of the college in the evening.
